Waxing Course

The Waxing Course teaches you how to remove unwanted hair from the face and body using professional waxing methods.

It is suitable for complete beginners as well as beauty therapists who want to add waxing to their treatment menu.

You will learn how to prepare the treatment area, check the client’s skin and apply wax safely. The course also covers correct removal techniques, skin support and aftercare.

Facial waxing and brow mapping form an important part of the training. You will learn how to assess the client’s features and create a brow shape that suits their face.

The practical training is supported by theory on hair growth, hygiene, contraindications and client consultation. Your tutor will explain each stage before you practise the treatment.

After successful completion, you will receive a Waxing Diploma. The course is accredited and insurable, subject to arranging suitable professional insurance.

The Waxing Course is also included in our Complete Beauty Therapist Course.

Students who also want to learn threading and intimate waxing can consider the Complete Hair Removal Specialist Course.

Face and Body Areas Covered

The practical class includes waxing techniques for common treatment areas on the face and body.

  • Eyebrows
  • Upper lip
  • Chin and suitable facial areas
  • Underarms
  • Legs
  • Standard bikini line

Brow Mapping and Facial Waxing

Brow waxing requires more precision than waxing larger body areas. You will learn how to map the brows before removing hair.

This includes checking the brow length, arch position and overall balance. You will then practise creating a clean shape without removing too much hair.

The facial-waxing section also covers skin preparation and techniques that help reduce redness and discomfort.

Waxing Techniques You Will Learn

  • Client consultation
  • Checking the skin and hair before treatment
  • Recognising contraindications
  • Preparing the treatment area
  • Setting up waxing equipment
  • Checking wax temperature
  • Applying wax in the correct direction
  • Removing wax safely
  • Supporting and stretching the skin
  • Waxing larger body areas efficiently
  • Working carefully on smaller facial areas
  • Brow mapping and shaping
  • Reducing the risk of bruising or skin damage
  • Cleaning tools and equipment
  • Homecare and aftercare advice

Safe and Professional Waxing Practice

Waxing must be adapted to the client’s skin, hair and treatment area. The course teaches you when waxing may not be suitable and when a treatment should be delayed.

You will also learn how to maintain hygiene between clients and prevent cross-contamination.

Correct wax temperature, skin tension and removal direction are covered during the practical training. These details help create a cleaner result and reduce unnecessary discomfort.

I completed the Waxing Course at SBE and really appreciated how much focus was given to safe technique. The tutor showed me how to support the skin and remove the wax correctly, which made me feel much more confident!

I had only ever waxed myself before, so working on different areas was really helpful. I found the guidance on skin stretching and wax removal made the treatment feel much easier and more controlled.
